Profhilo is the name of a special skin-shaping gel and the corresponding procedure. During this procedure, the gel is injected into the skin using tiny needles, resulting in tighter, shinier, plumper skin.
The gel has hydrating and skin-tightening properties and is used for treatment of saggy skin, wrinkles, and lines. It contains large amounts of hyaluronic acid; however, it is not a dermal filler. The consistency differs, presenting as more fluid than dermal fillers and eliminating the necessity of massaging the skin following injection. 

The hyaluronic acid present in the gel is a substance well-known for binding and holding water multiple times its weight. This has a hydrating effect on the skin. The treatment also has a tightening effects as it boosts the production of collagen, which is a skin-tightening protein, and elastin, which makes the skin more elastic.
Being one of the products with the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck, but it can also be used for the décollete, hands, arms, knees, and abdomen. The treatment is suitable for men and women of all ages.

The procedure lasts about 30 minutes. The results manifest after several days and can last up to 6 months, after which the procedure will have to be redone.
Possible side effects include redness, swelling, or soreness. Those go away in several days.
